KitchenAid Pistachio |
Pistachio?
Candy Apple?
Or Empire Red?
This is how I get myself to sleep at night, dreaming of KitchenAid colours.
I have decided that this is the year I will buy myself one of these beautiful mixers. My rationalisation is that yes, it may be expensive, but surely I will keep and use it for the rest of my life.
And with three kids, I see lots of birthday cakes and cupcakes in my future. Plus, I really want to learn to make bread.
I took over my mom's 33 year old Kenwood mixer last year, telling myself that it's a classic, a real antique. I mean really, there are pictures of me licking batter out of the bowl while sitting in my high chair in the early 80s. It's that old.
But I can only deny the truth for so long, and I want this appliance.
In other awesome cooking news, I got a really incredible early Christmas present last year when I won a copy of Alida Ryder's cookbook Cook from the heart. I love her blog Simply Delicious and the book had been on my wishlist for a while. And lucky me, I won it! (My husband thought I was slightly nuts for jumping up and down when I told him the news, but it's the first thing I've won in my entire life, so Yippee for me).
Yummmmm... |
My favourites so far are the Asian noodle slaw, Cucumber salad with Asian dressing and Linguini with broccoli, anchovies and lemon.
The roast chicken with wine, herbs and garlic is on my dinner list for this week, and I can't wait to try out the chicken noodle soup, but I am positively dreaming about this Peanut butter chocolate cake.
To let you in on a secret, I'm actually off to bed right now with my cookbook to re-read the recipe and dream about moist chocolatey yumminess.
So goodnight!
