- Lilia took her first steps on Saturday! Isn't that wonderful! She was so proud of herself, and rightly so. She walked from her Daddy to me (who was sitting on the edge of the coffee table at the time) and is so keen to show off her new trick to anyone who cares to see. To my surprise, I didn't even cry like so many people said I would ("My baby is all grown up etc etc"), I was just deliriously happy :)
- We got up super super super early on Saturday morning and braved the first chills of autumn to go to Irene Market. We did maybe get there a little early, seeing as the coffee stall was still busy setting up. But it was great to be up and out so early, and then to have the whole of the day ahead of us. I bought a beautiful pink orchid that now lives in the entrance hall.
- Still on the shopping front, I heard this morning that Karems vol Geskenke, which holds annual markets around the country, are launching an online shop tomorrow! I'm hoping it will be a bit like our own little Etsy shop here in SA, but take a look and I'll let you know some of the highlights once it's been launched.
- You know the week can only get better when Monday starts off with a trip to the dentist, and an accompanying bill that makes you weak at the knees... Oh well, at least my teeth are clean.
- My salary was burning a hole in my pocket over the weekend, so I went to Plaisir du Jardin and bought us a bistro table for our front garden, yay. I have been wanting one of these for ages now, and while it might not be the right season for sitting outside and catching some sunshine, I know where my favorite spot will be come spring!
- Next weekend is Easter, and while I was really looking forward to a long weekend with nothing in particular to do, it's rapidly turning into a long weekend trying to fit in all the family obligations and keep everybody happy. I'm starting to see why so many people go on holiday over this weekend, and am really wishing that we made that planned trip to Cape Town happen.
