So things have been frantic around here, surprise surprise.
In the past 10 days we have managed to put an offer in to buy a house, sell ours and need to now move out in five and a half weeks time.
And of course work has increased to an avalanche and its been raining non-stop for a week, which is just not funny when you have three little kids around your ankles who can't go outside to play.
But enough of that - the important thing is - we found a house!!
I've been looking on and off for a year now since the twins were born. We live in a gorgeous three bedroom in a lovely complex (good security, great park area for the kids to play in) but have known that we will need more space and the option for the kids to each have their own room one day.
We also want a little bit more privacy - it's great having common areas but sometimes you just want to be able to play with your kids in your own back yard and not have to discuss every detail of your life with various neighbours.
The new house is so lovely, I have to keep checking the photos online and pinching myself. It just has that great feel where you can actually picture yourself living there. I'm already planning where to put furniture and we're having some heated discussions about what artwork should go on which wall and if a certain paint swatch is too light or too dark.
But there's enough inside/outside space, a play area for the kidlets and their ever growing toy collection. Room for a wendy house and a swing and my vege garden and room to put in a small pool when everyone is a little bit bigger. And there's a pantry! And a guest bathroom. And a linen cupboard! Luxuries that you have to live without to make you truly appreciate them.
It's going to be difficult to leave our first house - our first as a married couple and the one that we brought our babies home to from the hospital. We have been very happy here.
It's going to be a momentous project and one that I am probably underestimating with two toddlers in tow. But I know it will be worth it in the long run, when we all get up on a Saturday and make pancakes and jump in the pool and hang out. Now to just keep that thought while I surround myself with boxes and bubble wrap and packing tape...
