Mountains (and Nguni cows) for miles |
I’ve been meaning to write up a post about the Blueberry Café
ever since we went there during our trip to the Midlands in April, but, anyway.
But as many people are heading out of town for this long weekend, I though now
is a good a time as any.
The Midlands is great for quaint little cozy places where
you can stop for a quick light lunch. But Blueberry is like a breath of fresh
air. From its hill perched above Nottingham Road, looking over the tree lined
avenue that leads up to Fordoun Spa you can see the mountains of the Drakensberg in the distance.
Blueberry has an organic garden outside and some lovely
Nguni cows which make for great photo ops, it reminded me a little bit of
Babyonstoren , on a mini scale.
The restaurant and décor shop was designed in conjunction
with Anatomy Design at 44 Stanley, so expect the same modern industrial cool.
We all shared the most incredible charcuterie platter, which we couldn’t even finish between the five of us. Salami and Parma ham olives and olive jam, pates and bread... It was superb.
