As this will be my last post for the year before heading away on holiday, I thought I'd do a little 2011-summary.
- Obviously, top of the highlights list has to be my daughter's birth in February, changing my life in unimaginable and exciting ways.
- The people I have met through the fact of my daughter's birth, especially the girls at the MOPS group has been one of the best parts of my year.
- Our little family and how amazing it is to spend time together. We don't have to be doing anything particular, even just lazing on the lawn in our backyard makes my weekend perfect these days.
- Our trips away so far this year - to the Drakensburg, fly fishing. Looking forward to lots more quality time spent together in the next year.
- Trying to make my dream come true of working from home and having my cake and eating it too. Here's to 2012 and making it work.
- Buying our first piece of REAL art. It makes me so happy every time I walk past it in our entrance hall.
Plans for 2012 include, but aren't limited to:
- Learning to use my sewing machine and do some creative-type things.
- Drink less wine (I've decided to give it up for lent. eeeek!).
- Find some sort of exercise to do - Baby boot camp, yoga or pilates.
- Put my little family first and stop trying to please all the people, all of the time. It just isn't possible and makes me irritable and unpleasant to be around.
- Work more as a freelancer.
- Plan a trip to Cape Town and the winelands over Easter.
- Go on more fly fishing weekends, just to get out of the city.
- It's the Big 3-Oh for me in July. Not really so much a plan as a given. But I'm really ok with it, but more about that next year...
But first, to the beach!
