Exactly two years ago my husband and I went on a trip to France.
It was our first time away together since having Lilia (she was 18 months at the time) and we planned and planned since the beginning of the year. I didn't enjoy the trip as much as I could have though, as we'd just found out we were going to have twins, which weighed quite heavily on me the whole time we were away.
So I really look forward to the day we can redo the whole trip over and be in a better mental space! (hint...hint...)
Despite it all, the whole 10 days stands out for me as one of the loveliest holidays I've ever been on. I can remember all the details of every little town we drove to, every meal we ate.
After five days in Paris, we took the TGV down to Avignon in Provence, with Tour-de-France type scenes passing by the window. We then hired a car and drove to our little guest house, Au Ralenti du Lierre in Beaumettes. From there we drove around to Gordes, Menerbes, Lacoste and a million tiny towns in the surrounding areas.
